Goal 1: Communicate among a wide range of audiences the unique nature of science and the different approaches to delivering high quality instruction.
Objective 1 - Develop a short (2 page) position paper that defines STEM and outlines its role in science education and the role of STEM.
Objective 2 – Disseminate the position paper regarding the role of STEM in science education and the role of STEM through public forums and professional meetings.
Objective 3 – Publicize the critical importance of science education at all levels (K-12) important role of science education in K-12 education through public forums and professional meetings.
Objective 4 – Promote the development and use of cross-curricular units in elementary school through the sharing of curriculum maps.
Objective 5 – Share models and strategies for high quality science instruction.

Objective 1 – Influence the revision of the Science SOL and Curriculum Framework by providing specific suggestions based on research and expertise.

Objective 1 – Increase the VSELA membership of science education leaders from school divisions, higher education, and informal science education.
